A name for parliamentary work at federal level.
Bundestag members represent the whole people. They deliberate in the plenary and committees on matters within federal competence. State parliaments have separate responsibilities in their states.
The Bundestag is not identical to the federal government. The government conducts executive business; parliament decides on matters such as legislation and the budget and demands accountability.
