The claim challenges the dismissal’s legal effect.
A dismissal-protection claim is more than expressing anger at an employer. It pursues a specific legal objective: establishing that the challenged dismissal did not terminate employment. Whether that is correct must be examined in the proceedings.
The short deadline matters in practice. Section 4 generally ties it to receipt of written notice, rather than the last working day. Learning the term for the test should therefore include understanding both the procedure and its deadline.

The other three answers
The wrong answers do not pursue the appropriate judicial declaration.
continue working and be friendly to the boss
Continuing to work and being friendly is not filing a dismissal claim. That conduct alone does not secure court review or preserve the filing deadline.
conduct a dunning procedure against the employer
Payment-order proceedings concern certain monetary claims. They are not the procedure for establishing that dismissal did not end employment. A separate claim for unpaid wages would be a different issue.
report the employer to the police
A legally invalid dismissal is not automatically a crime. Reporting an offence does not replace a dismissal-protection claim; any separate criminal allegation would require its own assessment.
The deadline has exceptions, but no general permission to wait.
Special rules may affect when time starts running, and late admission is possible only under limited conditions. If invalidity is not raised in time and no exception applies, the dismissal can be treated as valid. A particular dismissal therefore warrants prompt qualified assessment.
Filing does not guarantee success or automatically produce severance pay. The objective described here is legal examination of whether employment continues. The court’s applications office can help record a claim but does not provide individual legal advice.
Section 4 · Protection Against Dismissal Act ↗Challenge dismissal → dismissal-protection claim; check the deadline immediately.
Remember the compound German term and its purpose. It concerns judicial protection against dismissal, rather than a payment demand or criminal complaint.
